A lot of companies use proxies to connect to the Internet. It's a better way of managing the data going in and out of the organization. Also, this can help limit hacker attacks and, thus, keeping critical data safe. The problem with proxies is that every application that uses the Internet connection must be manually set to use the proxy. Some programs don't support working with proxy servers, as they connect directly to the Internet. This were Proxifier comes in hand. It's a software that allows every application to connect the Internet using a proxy. That's means no more restrictions and malfunctions. The software will run as if it was connected directly to the Internet.

Proxifier installs quickly, takes up little hard disk space and can run on every version of Microsoft Windows, starting with XP.

The interface is no eye candy, but it's practical and easy to use, as all the options are in the right place. The program allows using the classical menu, but also the graphical toolbar for completing most actions. For the program to start doing its job, the user must create a new profile, must add a proxy server or more and that's it. At this point, Proxifier will start monitoring every single application that connects to the Internet and will intercept it, forcing it to use the proxy defined in the program. Virtually every software is supported by Proxifier, even multi-player games.

The interface displays in real time the name of every application that uses the Internet connection and shows some information regarding its usage and also possible errors, using the red color. The software is virtually compatible with every application that uses the Internet connection.

Proxifier supports adding any type of proxy, like SOCKS or HTTP. The user must pay attention about setting the proxies, especially beginners, as programs that support only SOCKS connection cannot run using a HTTP proxy.

All the details regarding a proxy server and the applications that connect through it can be saved as a log file, for later analysis and problem troubleshooting.

Pros

It enables any application to connect to the Internet using proxy servers, even if that application was not originally designed to support proxy servers.

Cons

The number of options are limited and so is their complexity. Proxifier is a great program that allows any application to connect to the Internet using proxies.
